Barkham Blue has won Best Blue Cheese at the 2011 British Cheese Awards and will probably win this year too. A blue artisan cow's milk cheese from Berkshire, Barkham Blue has a very distinctive appearance; the deep yellow moist interior is spread with dark blue-green veins. Barkham Blue cheese has a rich blue taste, smooth buttery texture with a melt-in-the-mouth flavour, but without harshness.
